Fattoria Le Pupille: The Pioneering Spirit of Maremma

Amid the gentle hills overlooking Monte Amiata lies the origin of Fattoria Le Pupille — a story that began on one of Maremma’s sunlit slopes and grew into a 420-hectare estate of vineyards, olive groves, and pastures.

Since its rebirth in 1985, under the vision and determination of Elisabetta Geppetti, the winery has transformed from a family estate into a modern symbol of Tuscan excellence. Guided by the legendary Giacomo Tachis, Elisabetta replanted Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Sangiovese, paving the way for the creation of Saffredi (1987) — the iconic wine that brought Maremma to global attention.

Today, 75 hectares of vineyards are spread across the rolling landscapes between Scansano and Magliano in Toscana, including the celebrated Poggio Valente and the historic Saffredi vineyard near Pereta. Each parcel, like a piece of a mosaic, reflects the light, color, and vitality of Maremma — the land that continues to inspire Fattoria Le Pupille’s pioneering spirit.
